Chocolate Festival at York Cocoa House, 20th Jan onwards
York is home of the world's most famous chocolate bar: Kit Kat. With so many chocolates created in York, there's lots of love for chocolate here. Learn how to make your own, just how you like it! What's your favourite chocolate bar? Have you something special in mind that you can just never find, or an unusual preference that you have just never seen? They'll teach you how to temper chocolate, then you'll be able to experiment with different flavours to create your own chocolate bar. Then leave them to set before packaging them for you to come back and collect. The price of this workshop is £17.50.
Friday Night Live, The Brasserie, Jan 30th, Feb 13th & 27th, March 13th
Friday Night Live events held every other Friday. Music duo Lucy and Ryan will be playing in The Brasserie from 7pm. The unique ambiance of our Cellars coupled with delicious food is a perfect start to your weekend. About Lucy and Ryan: Both coming from musical backgrounds Lucy's love of country and acoustic lounge music and Ryan's love of rock music have resulted in a beautifully harmonic and musically diverse acoustic sound that is unique to Lucy and Ryan. Drawing influence from the likes of Taylor Swift, Christina Perri and Nickelback, the resulting sound is of rich harmonised vocals and catchy hooks with both cover versions and original compositions in their repertoire.
Churchill's Final Journey, National Railway Museam, 30th Jan- 3rd May
2015 marks 40 years since the opening of the National Railway Museum in York (25 September 2015). We'll be marking this very special milestone with a fantastic programme of special events and exhibitions. The year will start with the re-display of the Battle of Britain class locomotive, which was used to pull Winston Churchill's funeral train 50 years ago. The locomotive has been cosmetically restored specially for the anniversary and will be reunited with the carriage that contained his coffin. Free Entry

A Day Out with Paddington, National Railway Museam, 14th Feb - 22nd Feb
