Hotel Car Park
There is a small limited car park to the rear of the hotel for residents use only. To access, turn into Queen Anne’s Road where the entrance is first right. To guarantee a space, bays must be pre booked. Please contact reception directly on 01904 644744 or email. We charge £12.50 per night and your space will be reserved from 3pm on the day of arrival until midday the day of departure. Each bay is 2.5m wide. Please note; all cars are parked at the owner's risk.
(Some satellite navigation systems have difficulty giving an accurate location for Clifton. We suggest programming Queen Anne's Road or YO30 7AA should this occur).
We do appreciate car parking can be a problem in York but see below for various alternatives:
Marygate Car Park
The Grange Hotel has purchased discounted permits @ £10 from the City of York Council for our guests’ use. The nearest car park is on Marygate.
Turn left out of the hotel car park on to Queen Anne’s Road. At the top of the road, head right towards York. Take the 3rd exit on the right (signposted Marygate) and follow the signs for the car park. The city walls will be on your left. On entering the car park, take a ticket from the machine, complete the City of York Council Visitor Parking Permit and display it on your dashboard.
For pedestrians, there is a short cut back to the hotel – head to the top of the car park (away from the river), go under the railway line and follow the alleyways until you arrive at Queen Anne’s Road. The hotel is at the top on the left. On leaving the car park, drive up to the barrier and press the intercom to speak to a member of the parking team. You will then be asked for the parking permit number.
The permit allows you to park from 8.00 am on day 1 until midday on day 2 (this may differ from the instructions on the reverse). A second permit is required should you wish to stay any later.
On Street Parking
Parking on Queen Anne’s Road, Clifton, Bootham Crescent or St Olave’s Road is entirely at your own risk. We do recommend you pay close attention to the white parking signs displayed as the regulations do differ from street to street and parts thereof and are subject to change without prior notice. We cannot accept any liability for any parking tickets issued.
Queen Anne’s Road – you may purchase a ticket from the machine for one hour’s parking. There is no return within the hour. Parking charges apply from 8.00 am until 8.00 pm daily.
Clifton – opposite the hotel, again you may purchase a ticket from the machine for one hour’s parking. There is no return within the hour. Parking is permitted in the clearly defined bay only. Charges apply from 8.00 am until 8.00 pm daily.
Bootham Crescent – majority free parking for 10 minutes only (applies 24 hours). However at the top of the road (and on the left hand side only), you may park from 4.00 pm until 10.00 am. Restrictions are lifted on Sundays to allow parking from 4.00 pm on Saturday, through 10.00 am Monday – but this is at the top of the road on the left hand side only. The 10 minutes only rule is still valid elsewhere.
St Olave’s Road - At the top of the road (both sides) you may park from 4.00 pm until 10.00 am. Restrictions are lifted on Sundays to allow parking from 4.00 pm on Saturday, through 10.00 am Monday. The 10 minutes free parking only rule is still valid elsewhere (24 hours).
We have 2 charging stations for Teslas and a single universal charger suitable for most electric cars (please contact us for further details). These must be booked in advance and our universal charger is priced @ £15 for an overnight charge. This is in addition to normal parking charges.
